In the Fall of 2013, while hiking in Oakland’s Redwood Regional Park, I stumbled upon legions of ladybugs. Filled with sudden inexplicable joy, I built them a hotel, and then later, a website. The local press took a liking to the idea, and they published articles like this. Lots of cool things have happened since: East Bay Regional Parks District had its most-attended ladybug hike to date. Bay Nature interviewed me (as The Ladybug Hotel’s proprietor). I was honored to lead a group of talented photographers to the ladybugs. The Elsewhere Philatelic Society created a commemorative stamp for The Ladybug Hotel. More to come!
