Sergey Safonov designed a sweet little image browser app for kids that’s available in the iTunes shop, and I wrote the promotional copy. Entitled Balabam, the app entertains children, especially pre-readers, with an assortment of kid-friendly images contained within its library. Kids can self-navigate from one of Safonov’s original character designs to explore pictures of cats, dogs, rabbits, etc. in many forms (e.g. photos, drawings, sculpture, Legos). This helps youngsters make the connection that a bird is a bird is a bird (whether that bird is depicted as a drawing, a photo or a sculpture).
