MAQET 3D Printing
MAQET is a small 3D-printing company that believes everyone has a story to tell, and we should all show our character! Founder Keith Cottingham started MAQET as a way for individuals to make collectible art objects that are uniquely their own. His favorite part about MAQET is helping people experience the pleasure of artistic creation and witness their ideas come to life. My favorite parts about working for MAQET were translating this new technology into words people could understand, getting the message out, bringing artists on board and then marveling at the magic of additive manufacturing!

“I hired Jeremy to scout new talent, and we made many quick changes to our artist roster, platform and user experience based on his recommendations. Jeremy helped us set up a Twitter account, blog and tutorials so that our high-tech process could be more easily understood by our users. Whether I needed newsletters, product copy or blog posts, Jeremy understood how to write for MAQET’s distinct demographics. Jeremy has a real passion that comes across in his words. He helped MAQET push past a block and really engage our users.” Keith Cottingham

Volkswagen and MAQET partnered for a contest that puts designers in the driver’s seat! Using MAQET’s character design software at The Polo Principle website, people could take the new Volkswagen Polo for an artistic spin. VW’s panel of judges then selected one winner to have his/her design applied to a real Polo automobile, and 40 of the most creative prototype designs to be 3D-printed and exhibited in Copenhagen. After the show, the 10-inch 3D-printed physical Polo prototypes were returned to their respective creators. This was a real opportunity for car customizers to show their skills in front of a world audience, and MAQET was excited to help drive the action.

MAQET collaborated with artist Frank Kozik to provide a unique prize for GoldRun Games’ first ever Augmented Reality Designer Toy Scavenger Hunt. Curious collectors could join the fun at three different levels: Global Run (collect toys around the world), Citywide Run (collect toys in San Francisco, New York, Chicago and London) and Location-specific Run (collect toys in specific neighborhoods within a particular city). MAQET also collaborated with artist Rob Reger to make a customizable version of his ultra-popular character, Emily the Strange. Fans around the world can now be Emily’s personal fashion designer by using MAQET’s online high-tech software or handy traditional drawing kits.
