Zenefits

Zenefits is a tech startup that’s disrupting the benefits industry. They provide a suite of free software that simplifies and automates much of the antiquated paperwork associated with HR and insurance enrollment. By using Zenefits, small-to-mid-sized companies save time and money while redirecting their resources away from bureaucracy and back to business goals.

I was hired as one of the first writers to write copy that made onboarding feel less like waterboarding. The role evolved, beginning with UX copywriting, moving into product marketing, and finally landing at content marketing. Closely collaborating with engineers, I wrote the flow for several core products. In conjunction with marketing operations, I wrote nurture campaigns, upsell emails, and paid marketing spots (online, print, radio, billboard). As a content writer, I wrote blog features, eBooks, case studies, and speeches for events panelists. I also concepted and co-authored a long-running benefits advice column and managed one product copywriter.
