The Compound is a multidisciplinary art gallery orbited by artist studios in North Oakland. They curate art shows by local and international artists, and they offer classes to the community. Within this hotbed of artistic activity, The Compound’s founders have created several innovative initiatives, including The Admiral Dot Gallery and Art in a Box. For their latest project, The Compound sought to expand their facilities. I helped them raise funds to take over the lease of the adjacent building. The new Compound Institute of Fabrefaction will open its doors in November 2014!
